MicroSkills is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Funding Specialist . This is a full-time position assisting students apply for and secure student loans to enroll in one of the leading San Diego technical education institutions.   

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist prospective students secure loans to enroll in school
  • Conduct financial assistance interviews
  • Process student loan applications
  • Process student credit reports
  • Communicate loan results to the Sales Department and prospective student
  • Interface with loan organizations to maximize loan approvals
  • Process student refunds for excess funds
  • Develop leads with new loan organizations to increase funding stream
  • Maintain the shipping log and confirm billing transactions
  • Maintain the funding filing system
  • Other duties as assigned
Experience and Skills:
(preferred, but not required)

  • Previous experience working in a financial aid office at a private school
  • BPPVE Certificate of Authorization for Service
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, must be a team player
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to handle matters of a confidential nature
  • Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Experience using academic and/or accounting software
